Shooting In NW McMinnville **2nd Update Below** -11/29/17

On Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 6:40 pm McMinnville Police and Fire/EMS were dispatched to the area of NW 9th and Hickory Street regarding a male adult who was the victim of a gunshot wound. The male was stabilized at the scene and transported to Willamette Valley Medical Center for treatment on his non-life-threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation and no further details can be released at this time. **update** As of 11/29/17 this case is still under active investigation. The McMinnville Police Department anticipates releasing further information on 11/30/17. The Detectives working this case are confident that there is no danger to the public. **2nd Update** On November 25th, 2017, at about 6:40 pm McMinnville police officers responded to a report of a shooting near 9th and Hickory. An adult male victim was located and transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the ear. The suspect, 35 year old Christopher Ridenour of McMinnville, allegedly approached the victim and they got into a verbal altercation. Ridenour and the victim knew each other prior to their altercation and at some point during their contact, Ridenour pointed a handgun at the victim and shot the victim once in the head. Ridenour fled the area prior to law enforcement arrival. On November 29th, 2017, at about 2:30 pm Ridenour was arrested by McMinnville Police Department for the following charges: Attempted Murder Bail: $150,000 Assault I Bail: $150,000 Menacing Bail: $5,000 Felon in possession of a weapon Bail: $7,500 Unlawful possession of a firearm Bail: $7,500 Unlawful use of a weapon: Bail: $7,500 Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Detective Rudolph at 503-434-7307 or you can leave a message on the McMinnville PD Tipline at 503-434-2337.
