Local Businesses To Host Block Party Car Show In Beaverton On Sunday, Aug. 8 -08/03/21
BEAVERTON, Ore. – At least 200 cars of all types will be on display at a Block Party set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at 5703 S.W. Artic Drive in Beaverton.
503 Motoring, an automotive custom shop in Beaverton, is again organizing the car show. It will be open to the public and feature free admission.
The last Block Party in 2017 attracted an estimated 1,000 attendees, said 503 Motoring owner Tim Walbridge.
“It’s a good family event. It’s a fun day outdoors and an opportunity for people to see some rare, high end, luxury vehicles they wouldn’t otherwise get to see normally,” said Walbridge.
The show will include vintage, classic, hot rod and import cars.
“It’s a very eclectic group of cars that will be on display. Everyone is welcome to bring their car to show others,” Walbridge said.
The event will include face painting, tee shirt printing, food and refreshments for all ages.
“We are bringing in other businesses to support the community feel of what we’re doing,” Walbridge said.
Up to 15 local companies will display vehicles and automotive parts. The Maurice Lucas Foundation will also have a booth. It will sell raffle tickets for a supercharged, 2010 Chevy Camaro SS2 that 503 Motoring customized for a client who donated it to the nonprofit group.
Street parking will be available. For more information call (503) 469-9821 Monday through Friday.
Walbridge started his company in 2001 in his home garage in Milwaukie before moving to his current Beaverton location in 2004. The Block Party is part of his firm’s 20th anniversary celebration.
