McMinnville Fire Department responded to the report of Structure Fire at 910 NE 4th ST. at 0750.
Units arrived to find heavy smoke from the roof of the home. Occupants had evacuated from the building. Fire crews worked to locate the fire in the attic of the residence. Fire attack contained the fire to the attic level. Damage is heavy the area that the fire originated in.
Estimated loss is $40,000
McMinnville Fire Department responded with 5 apparatus and 20 personnel to the scene. The last operations units were cleared at 11:22 AM
Cause of the fire appears to be an electrical failure in the ceiling. The residence did not have a working smoke detector in the home.
