On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at approximately 8:40 a.m., Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a serious crash at the intersection of NW Germantown Rd and NW Kaiser Rd, just north of the Bethany area.

Deputies determined the crash involved a 2011 Kia Sportage and a motorcycle. According to the preliminary investigation, the driver of the Sportage, a 45-year-old man, was traveling westbound, while the motorcyclist, a 20-year-old man, was traveling eastbound when the collision occurred.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The East County Vehicular Crimes Team responded and is leading the investigation, which is ongoing. Family notifications are currently pending.

Impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash. No further information will be shared at this time.
