Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Detectives Unit arrests Kevin Dahlgren, additional victims sought (Photo) - 10/31/23

Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested 53-year-old Kevin Dahlgren on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, following a 19-count Grand Jury indictment.

The MCSO Detectives Unit opened a criminal investigation into Dahlgren after receiving a referral by the Gresham Police Department on March 23, 2023, regarding alleged theft and misuse of his official position while employed as a homeless services specialist for the City of Gresham. Dahlgren later resigned from the position on March 30.

Dahlgren was booked at the Multnomah County Detention Center today on the following charges:

  • Seven counts of Theft in the First Degree
  • Five counts of Identity Theft
  • Two counts of Aggravated Identity Theft
  • Five counts of Official Misconduct in the First Degree

Additional victims have been identified, but not located. Anyone who has had contact with Dahlgren in his capacity as an outreach worker is asked to contact MCSO Detective Dylan Lerch at dylan.lerch@mcso.us or call the MCSO Tip Line at 503-988-0560.

MCSO is releasing Dahlgren’s booking photo to the public to assist in the identification of additional criminal activity. Per Oregon House Bill 3273, Section 1(c), a law enforcement agency may release a booking photo to the public, if the law enforcement agency determines that there is a law enforcement purpose for the release, including but not limited to. assistance with the apprehension of a fugitive or suspect in a criminal investigation or the identification of additional criminal activityWe believe many of the people Dahlgren interacted with in the capacity of his role as an outreach worker may not remember his name, but may recognize his image.

The investigation is ongoing, and the Sheriff’s Office will not be providing an additional comment at this time.
