Adult in custody death (Photo) - 06/27/23

On Wednesday, June 21, 2023, shortly before 10:30 p.m., an adult in custody (AIC) was found unresponsive in the shower area at the Multnomah County Inverness Jail (MCIJ). Corrections deputies and jail medical staff began lifesaving efforts. Firefighters and paramedics recovered a pulse and transported the adult to a local hospital. The AIC was pronounced deceased at the hospital in the early morning hours on June 22nd.

As standard protocol, the East County Major Crimes Team activated and is performing a death investigation in conjunction with the Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The AIC is identified as 53-year-old Kashi Abram Harmon. Harmon was booked into MCSO custody on June 15, 2023.

The death investigation remains open, and no further comment will be made at this time.
