Update: Victim and Suspect in Domestic Violence Homicide Identified - 06/12/23

Update on 6/12/2023:

The victim in the domestic violence homicide that occurred on June 3, 2023, is identified as 47-year-old Heather Lynn Booker Briscoe.

The suspect is identified as 47-year-old Brandon Lewis Briscoe. On June 3, 2023, Briscoe was booked into Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of murder in the second degree-domestic violence, felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon. He remains in custody.

The investigation is ongoing. No further comment will be made at this time.

Initial press release on 6/5/2023:

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance and found a woman dead. A man was arrested.

On June 3, 2023, at approximately 4:50 p.m. Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) patrol deputies responded to the area of 37000 East Historic Columbia River Highway after several 911 calls about a domestic disturbance. Witnesses reported to deputies they heard gun shots. Responding deputies located a man walking away from where the gunfire was heard and took him into custody. At the residence where the gunfire was believed to have occurred, deputies located a woman deceased from wounds consistent with a shooting. 

The MCSO Detectives Unit and the East County Major Crimes Team are leading the homicide investigation. The team consists of members from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, Gresham Police Department, Oregon State Police, Port of Portland Police Department and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. 

The name of the deceased will be released after family notifications are completed. At that time, suspect information will also be released.

The investigation is ongoing. More details will be released as the investigation moves forward.
