Online Police Report Tool Now Available (Photo) - 03/18/22

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is now providing an online, non-emergency crime reporting tool. This technology provides an alternative way for community members to file a police report online without having to call the non-emergency line or file a report in-person.

Self-reporting is limited to non-emergency incidents only, where no immediate danger to people or property exists. Only crimes and incidents that occurred in unincorporated Multnomah County, such as Corbett, Sauvie Island, Dunthorpe and the Columbia River Gorge, and MCSO contract cities of Maywood Park, Fairview, Wood Village and Troutdale, can be reported using this tool. For locations outside these areas, including the cities of Gresham and Portland, please refer to their respective public safety agencies.

These incidents and crimes may be reported online:

  • Lost or missing property (excluding prescription medication, firearms, or license plates)
  • Theft, with no known suspects (excluding firearms, explosives or motor vehicles)
  • Damaged property with no known suspects
  • Vandalism to a vehicle
  • Theft of vehicle parts (excluding lost or stolen license plates)
  • Check forgery or fraud
  • Identity theft
  • Illegal use of a credit or debit card
  • Fraud: Confidence games or scams
  • Hit-and-run incidents to property or vehicles (not involving injury)
  • Non-custody theft/shoplifting reports (for businesses only)
  • To add additional property to a previously reported incident (please reference the original case number; example, 2022-12345)

Community members can visit our website, or use the mobile application (link: iOS & Android). They can still call the non-emergency number or visit our sheriff’s office in-person at Troutdale Sheriff’s Operations Center to file a report.
