The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two, unrelated shootings that occurred overnight Tuesday, August 17. The two victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to survive.
At 3:54 a.m., an adult male walked into Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Northwest Portland and reported he had been shot. The victim reported that the shooting occurred on the Columbia River near the Oregon Slough Railroad Bridge.
At 4:32 a.m., an adult male walked into Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center in Vancouver and reported he had been shot in the hand. The victim reported the shooting occurred on Government Island.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances of both shootings. The shootings are considered unrelated and isolated incidents. While no arrests have been made, deputies do not believe there is any threat to the public.
The investigations are ongoing, and no further comments can be made at this time.
