Two men pleaded not guilty to charges in connection with a death investigation last month in rural Multnomah County.
On December 4, 2020, a Multnomah County grand jury indicted Joel Foran, 50, with one count of abuse of a corpse in the second degree, 20 counts of aggravated identity theft, one count of felony computer crime, one count of tampering with physical evidence, one count of criminal impersonation and one count of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Brandon Rossow, 37, is charged with one count of abuse of a corpse in the second degree.
On November 2, at approximately 2:09 p.m., Multnomah County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a person down in the 31400 block of NE Mershon Rd. Deputies located a deceased woman off the roadway down an embankment. The Sheriff’s Office opened a death investigation and later identified the woman as Aubriel Leann Haskett, 24, of Silverton. Investigators believe her body was dumped in that location by Foran and Rossow after she passed away in another location.
Foran was lodged into the lodged into the Multnomah County Jail on November 12. Rossow was booked on December 3. Both pleaded not guilty and remain in custody.
The investigation is ongoing, and there is no further information that can be released at this time. There is no threat to the public.

On Monday, November 2, 2020, at approximately 2:09 p.m., Multnomah County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a person down on the side of the road in the 31400 block of NE Mershon Rd. Deputies located a woman off the side of the road. She was pronounced deceased on scene. A death investigation is underway. NE Mershon is closed from 32040 NE Mershon Rd. to NE Wand Rd. indefinitely as the investigation into her death continues. No further comment can be made at this time. ###
