** UPDATE **
On the evening of Tuesday, September 25, a Corbett resident called 911 to report that an unknown male had approached their house and knocked on the door. Deputies responded to the area and established a perimeter just north of the area searched earlier in the day. Over the next few hours, a search was conducted with a K9 and air support unit. During this time, Corbett Hill Road was closed to all traffic. At approximately 11:00 p.m., the suspect had not been located, the perimeter was released, and the roads reopened.
Around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, a Corbett resident in the area of Thousand Acres believed they saw the suspect from Tuesday’s assault and called 911. Deputies responded to the area he was last seen, located the subject, and positively identified him as Pavel Mikhay. Mikhay was taken into custody without incident.
Mikhay was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center and faces charges of Assault II, Burglary I, and Strangulation.
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office extends its gratitude to the community for their patience throughout this incident with multiple perimeters established and roads being closed. The safety of our community is paramount.

Attempt to locate suspect in Corbett Assault
Around 6:30am this morning, deputies responded to a report of an assault at a home in Corbett. The suspect was located a short time later by a responding deputy who attempted to stop him near Corbett School. The suspect fled and deputies quickly setup a perimeter.
East Metro SWAT, MCSO Deputies (with help from a K9), Gresham Police Officers, and Oregon State Police Troopers have been conducting methodical searches of the area throughout the day. Area roads were closed through the afternoon and reopened at 3:00pm.
The suspect is identified as 26 year-old Pavel Mikhay. He is 6’4”, 190 lbs, and may have a cut on his face.
Mikhay should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call 911 and do not approach. The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Detective Unit is seeking any information to assist in the apprehension of Pavel Mikhay. Please leave any information on our Tip Line at 503-988-0560.
