Motorcycle Crash in Longview Requires Lifeflight (Photo) - 09/10/20

On September 10th at 1:22 pm Longview Police, Fire and an AMR unit were dispatched to a motorcycle verse automobile accident in the 900 block of Ocean Beach Hwy, Longview. The injured rider was  located in the Sizzler parking lot, approximately 40’ from his crashed motorcycle.

Upon arrival AMR determined the motorcyclist, an adult male in his 20’s, suffered serious traumatic injuries and would require air transportation via Lifeflight Network.

Ocean Beach Highway was shut down during the incident and Lifeflight was landed on OBH. The injured cyclist was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, in Vancouver.

Southwest Medical Center is a state verified Level 2 trauma center working out of a 450 bed hospital and sees roughly 2000 traumas per year. They staff two surgeons at a time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. 

The name and specific injuries are not being reported at this time. Longview Police and the Washington State Police are conducting an accident investigation. Ocean Beach Highway was reopened at approximately 2:00 PM
