News Release
Linn County Sheriff's Office Makes Arrest in Robbery Case - 11/19/21

Linn County Undersheriff Michelle Duncan reports on October 27, at 6:12 p.m., the Linn County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a robbery at the Crawfordsville Market.  The caller reported a male wearing camouflage clothing and a camouflage mask, had robbed the store, and just left.

Deputies arrived on scene but were unable to find anyone matching the description of the suspect. Investigators learned the man had entered the store and passed a note to the clerk.  The note indicated the suspect had a gun and the suspect also raised the clothing around his waistband, exposing what the clerk believed to be the butt of a pistol.  The suspect then demanded money from the cash register and vape pens from behind the counter which the clerk gave him.  The suspect then left the store.

Investigators were eventually able to identify Keian Troy Hostetler, 18, from Harrisburg, as the person responsible for the robbery.  On November 19, at approximately 1:05 p.m., investigators arrested Keian Hostetler without incident.  Investigators also served a search warrant at Hostetler’s residence, the 23000 block of North Coburg Road in Harrisburg, and seized evidence related to the robbery.

Keian Hostetler was lodged in the Linn County Jail on charges of Robbery in the Second Degree, as well as Theft in the Second Degree stemming from a different incident.
