Update:
Linn County Undersheriff Jim Yon reports deputies are continuing to investigate the fatal crash on Seven Mile Lane and Tangent Drive, east of Tangent.
The female operator of a 2006 Yamaha XV2 was identified as Sarah Danielle Watson, 22, of Albany and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies learned Watson was traveling north on Seven Mile Lane near the intersection of Tangent Drive. The red 2007 Toyota Prius, driven by Miranda Rebecca Carnes, 19, of Tangent, was traveling east on Tangent Drive. Witnesses told deputies that Carnes did not come to a complete stop at the stop sign at the intersection. Carnes continued east through the intersection hitting the motorcycle. Both of the involved vehicles came to rest on Tangent Drive, east of Seven Mile Lane.
The roadway was closed for approximately three hours during the investigation. It does not appear that speed or alcohol was a contributing factor. This is an ongoing investigation and will later be reviewed by the Linn County District Attorney’s Office.
Aasum Funeral Home transported Watson from the scene. Carnes was not injured in the crash.
Deputies were assisted by the Tangent Fire Department, Albany Fire Department, the Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team and the Linn County Road Department.

Linn County Undersheriff Jim Yon reports at 3:25 p.m. this afternoon his deputies responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Seven Mile Lane and Tangent Drive near Tangent. Deputies are still actively investigating the crash involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle. It is confirmed that one person has died. Names of the involved are being withheld until next of kin can be notified.
Seven Mile Lane and Tangent Drive are shut down near this intersection while deputies investigate. It may be a few hours before the road reopens and Undersheriff Yon would like to ask travelers to find an alternate route around this area.
