Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports his deputies responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash this morning on Seven Mile Lane and Columbus Street near Albany. A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing the road. The crash was called in at 6:39 a.m. Deputies are actively investigating the crash and are being assisted by Albany Police Department, Linn County Road Department and the Albany Fire Department.

Seven Mile Ln. is now closed from Columbus to Three Lakes Road while deputies conduct their investigation. Sherriff Riley asks that people find an alternate route to travel around the area. An update will be provided after the family of the victim has been notified and more details are known.
