UPDATE: ANIMAL SERVICES CONCERN (Photo) - 07/23/26

Erik Anderson Phone: 541-994-3636 Date: July 23, 2026 RE: Canine Elyon Examination On Thursday, July 23, with the consent of German Shepherd Elyon’s owner, Elyon underwent a comprehensive examination by a veterinarian to assess his health and determine if he has been injured. The veterinarian found Elyon to be in good physical health, and he did not have any injuries. LCPD also received and reviewed historical veterinary records for Elyon. There were no prior findings of injury or abuse. When the Lincoln City Police Department and Lincoln County Animal Services Deputies receive complaints related to animal welfare or abuse, a thorough investigation is completed including investigation of all reports of alleged abuse, reviewing all witness statements, video provided by citizens, video available on the internet, and through contact with the animal’s owner. The same process was followed in this case. After thoroughly investigating all available information, LCPD and the Lincoln County Animal Services Deputy have determined there is no probable cause for animal abuse charges. Police Officers or Animal Services Deputies may impound dogs after investigating specific violations defined in ORS 609.090. These violations do not apply to the complaints in this case.
