Lebanon Firefighters Save Shop Building (Photo)

Lebanon Fire District firefighters responded to a reported structure fire around the area of River Drive mid-evening of August 15, 2026, at 2054. While crews were responding, the original 911 caller relayed to the dispatch center an updated location which was the 38000 block of Lawrence Drive. When the Battalion Chief arrived, he was directed to a pole barn type shop that had light smoke showing from the eaves. The BC began his 360 walk around and encountered the property owner trying to extinguish the blaze with a garden hose. Firefighters arrived and quickly deployed hoses and trained their streams to the interior of the structure where fire was burning. Firefighters had the fire under control in moments and stayed on scene an additional hour for overhaul and mop-up of the area.
No firefighters were injured but the property owner was evaluated by a fire/medic crew for a minor burn sustained on the hand. Lebanon’s fire investigation Deputy Fire Marshal began investigating the blaze shortly after extinguishment and returned the following day for follow up.
Lebanon Firefighters would like to remind the community of the high fire danger in the county and across the state. Currently Linn County has a county wide burn ban which includes all backyard piles, barrel burning, charcoal fires and recreational fires. These restrictions remain in effect until the Linn County Fire Defense Board and ODF lift restrictions, which may not happen until significant rains.
