Linn County Fire Restriction Lifted As Weather Conditions Improve -07/30/24

The Linn County Fire Defense Board is pleased to announce that the fire restriction, which was recently implemented due to extreme fire conditions, has been lifted. Recent changes in weather patterns have moved Linn County out of the Red Flag Warning, allowing for the easing of the restrictions previously in place.

Effective immediately, residents of Albany, Lebanon, Sweet Home, Scio, Tangent, Brownsville, Halsey-Shedd, and Harrisburg may resume the use of open flames, including campfires, fire pits, and warming fires. However, it is important to remain vigilant and continue practicing fire safety. The potential for changing weather conditions means that Red Flag Warnings and associated restrictions may need to be reintroduced if conditions worsen.

Additionally, residents should be aware that Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) restrictions may still apply in certain areas. For updated information on ODF restrictions and to ensure compliance, please visit ODF South Cascade or ODF Fire Restrictions.

The Fire Defense Board appreciates the community's cooperation and efforts in helping to reduce wildfire risk during the burn ban. As always, please stay informed about local fire conditions, use caution with all fire-related activities, and be prepared to adjust practices as conditions change.

Thank you for your continued support in keeping our community safe.
