Cause of Lebanon House Fire Is Under Investigation (Photo) - 02/08/18

The cause of a Wednesday night house fire in Lebanon is currently under investigation by the Lebanon Fire Investigation Team. Team members spent Thursday digging through 1-2 foot deep layers of debris searching for clues as to the cause and origin of the blaze at 330 Russell Street in Lebanon.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 8:06 p.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke and fire from the rear of the story and a half home. A neighbor's travel trailer was threatened by the flames and firefighters worked quickly to protect the nearby property while keeping the fire at bay. Crews then entered the structure and performed a search of the residence and the building was discovered to be unoccupied.

The structure sustained heavy damage to the interior as well as a portion of the roof assembly which was consumed by the intense fire. Firefighters worked on scene for nearly three hours to ensure the blaze was out and that no hot spots remained. The property was secured and a member of the fire district remained on scene overnight to watch the scene until investigators could be gathered Thursday morning. There were no injuries to fire personnel. Members of the Brownsville, Sweet Home, and Albany Fire Departments assisted with the incident.

Anyone having information regarding this fire can contact Deputy Fire Marshal Ken Foster at 541-451-1901.
