News Release
LFD Responds To Thanksgiving Day Garage Fire - 11/23/17

Crews from the Lebanon Fire District were dispatched to a reported structure fire at approximately 2:30PM on Thanksgiving afternoon. Upon arrival Battalion Chief Ron Danielson reported a working structure fire with smoke coming from an open roll-up garage door. Prior to fire crews arriving on scene bystanders had successfully knocked down most of the flames in the garage with a fire extinguisher. Crews pulled a hose line through the garage and "mopped up" the remaining hot spots in the garage.

Crews spent approximately 45 minutes on scene removing smoke from the inside of the house and ensuring the fire was completely out. The cause of the fire was found to be a failed chest freezer compressor. Five LFD units responded with 11 personnel. Damages were estimated between $30,000-40,000. There were no injuries sustained by residents or fire crews.
