News Release

We Are Recruiting Adult Search And Rescue Volunteers! (Photo) - 09/25/26

 
In order to apply, you MUST attend one of the upcoming information sessions at Harris Hall, 125 E. 8th Ave., Eugene:
- Thursday, Oct. 8th at 6 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 11th at 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, Oct. 20th at 6 p.m.
 
We are looking for adults who have positive attitudes and want to serve their community. Volunteers must be willing to respond any time day or night, often in inclement weather and extreme conditions.
 
Volunteers who graduate from SAR academy are certified with the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association. Volunteers receive training in medical care, orienteering, outdoor survival, and other important skills. They also have the opportunity to work on teams including ground search, mountain rescue, search K9s, and special vehicles.
