Residents In Southeast Springfield Placed On A Level 1 (Be Ready) Evacuation Notice Overnight Following Grass Fire - 08/12/26

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office has placed homes near this afternoon’s grass fire in southeast Springfield at a Level 1 (Be Ready) evacuation notice overnight. All residents in the area should have a higher level of awareness overnight as fire crews continue to monitor for hotspots. 

 

Everyone who was asked to leave the area this afternoon may return home.

 

The area included in the Level 1 (Be Ready) notice is:

  • Homes from the intersection of Holly Street and Booth Kelly Road east to South 55th Street between Mt. Vernon Road to the south and Booth Kelly Road to the north

The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and assistance today, including people who live in the area; fire personnel from Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire, Lowell Fire, Coburg Fire, Oregon Department of Forestry, Mohawk Fire, Upper McKenzie Fire, and Eugene Springfield Fire; along with Springfield Police Department and Oregon State Police.

If conditions worsen, first responders will make contact again using Lane Alerts and will start door-to-door notifications.
