07/28/2026 – Lane County Sheriff’s Deputy Placed On Unpaid Administrative Leave Pending Investigation - 07/29/26

On June 29th, 2026 It was reported to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office that Deputy Dylan Ford was believed to be having an inappropriate online relationship with a minor outside of the country.  LCSO immediately contacted an outside agency so that an independent investigation could be conducted into the allegation.

 

On July 28th, 2026, outside agency investigators arrested the involved employee, Dylan Ford.  Ford has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending conclusion of the criminal investigation.  He has been employed with LCSO for approximately 7 ½ years.

 

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office does not have additional details available at this time.  Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-CALL FBI (1-800-225-5324).

 

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office takes allegations such as these very seriously and is cooperating fully with this investigation.  We would like to thank the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and Federal Bureau of Investigation for their assistance in this investigation.
