9/5/24 - LCSO Case #24-4791 - Deputies Arrest Felon With Firearm After Assault -09/06/24

On September 5th at about 5:10 p.m., the Lane County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a report of an assault involving a firearm that had just occurred in the 91200 block of Marcola Road. A witness was able to relay a license plate from a vehicle that had fled the scene. 

Deputies responded to the area to contact the involved persons and search for the vehicle. A Sheriff’s Office sergeant quickly located the vehicle in Marcola and initiated a traffic stop. Deputies detained the driver, Tracy Scott Starr, 60, of Springfield, and secured a firearm from the vehicle. 

After conducting their investigation, deputies arrested Starr and lodged him at the Lane County Jail for Assault in the 3rd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Menacing, and a contempt of court warrant.
