On 03/29/2021 at about 1:27pm the Lane County Sheriff's Office was notified of a motorcycle vs. pickup crash on Marcola Road near Alder Branch Road. The driver of the motorcycle, 60 year old Eugene resident John Janssens, died at the scene. The second involved vehicle was a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. The driver of this vehicle, a 46 year old male resident of Lowell was uninjured and cooperated with the investigation.
