UPDATE: Lane County Sheriff's Office Responds to Shooting on Highway 58 - 03/01/21

On Thursday, February 25 at 10:21 p.m., the Lane County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police responded to a report of two adult males shot with a firearm during a dispute over a vehicle at Highway 58 and Harbor Drive.  Both were transported to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Initial information was that the suspect was described as a male, possibly Hispanic, armed with a firearm, and driving a blue Toyota Prius.  At this time, it is unknown if the initial reports of the suspect leaving the scene in a blue Toyota Prius is accurate.

Further investigation has found that the vehicle involved in the dispute was stolen on February 25th at about 7:30 PM from RAD Vehicle Service and Repair, located at 47609 Hwy 58, Oakridge.  At that time, an unknown suspect was reportedly observed walking to the location and departing in the vehicle, which is described as a 1995 Honda Civic 2 door, dark grey in color.  The vehicle is further described as having low profile tires, numerous automotive stickers on both the driver and passenger side rear windows and a prominent yellow, blue and white "NAPA" sticker on the passenger side rear quarter panel.  The stolen vehicle was reportedly observed departing RAD Vehicle Service and Repair, west bound on Hwy 58 being operated without headlights.

Pictures of the stolen vehicle are attached for reference.  The stolen vehicle was recovered at the scene of the shooting.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone who may have further information or description of the suspect observed taking the vehicle from RAD Vehicle Service and Repair to please contact the Lane County Dispatch non-emergency number, 541-682-4141, and reference case #21-1152.

This investigation is on going and no further information is being released at this time.
