Ribbon Cutting Ceremony For Lane Education Service District's Migrant Education Program Remodel - 03/03/23
The Board of Directors of Lane Education Service District, staff and families will celebrate the Grand Opening of the newly remodeled Migrant Education Program (Region 28) offices on Tuesday, March 7, at 5:30 p.m.
The Migrant Education Program Region 28 at Lane ESD serves both Lane and Douglas counties. The Migrant Program in Region 28 provides supplemental educational services to migrant students to support their academic success.
MEP recognizes that all families possess valuable cultural resources and strengths that contribute to the success of their students. MEP supports migrant students in order to overcome educational disruption, cultural and language differences; social isolation and systemic barriers; preparing for a successful transition to post-secondary education and/or working life.
Through advocacy and mediation, as well as collaboration with School Districts and different community resources, MEP informs families about their rights and services provided in the community; thus empowering families with tools so that they can navigate the education system in an effective and proactive way.
The Migrant Education Program offices are located at the main campus of Lane Education Service District, 1200 Highway 99 North, Eugene, Oregon.
