Lane County Behavioral Health, a division of Lane County Health & Human Services, is hosting a series of in-person and virtual community informational sessions on the upcoming launch of the Mobile Crisis Services of Lane County (MCS-LC) program. The first informational session is in person on Friday, August 9th, at the Eugene Public Library in the Bascom-Tykeson Room from 12 to 1 p.m. and will include a presentation on youth mobile crisis services presented by Riverview Center for Growth. These sessions are free, and open to the community and will provide a valuable opportunity to learn more about the MCS-LC program and services.
"In order to expand behavioral health care in Lane County, we are launching the multi-phased pilot program, Mobile Crisis Services of Lane County (MCS-LC). Our goal is to offer crisis support that is not only comprehensive and accessible but also equitable, ensuring that all residents have the support they need,” said Lane County Behavioral Health Division Manager, Pauline Gichohi. “These informational sessions will be an opportunity to let the community know what that looks like, how we complement other services, and in the end, how this program over the long-term, can add to the behavioral healthcare network that stretches from rural to metro Lane County."
These informational sessions will cover various topics, including details about MCS-LC's county-wide pilot phase, the populations served, the services offered, and how to access these services. Attendees will learn how MCS-LC is expanding the continuum of behavioral health services in Lane County and how the program complements existing regional and youth-based initiatives. The sessions aim to educate the public on the critical role of MCS-LC in providing compassionate and effective crisis response services and connecting individuals in crisis with the appropriate resources and support. Additional informational sessions will be announced.
