News Release
Lane County Public Health October 14th Case Update - 10/14/20

?

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Lane County Public Health notified of 29 additional positive COVID-19  cases and 1 new death. This makes a total of one thousand nine hundred and thirty eight (1,938) cases.

 

 

1,938 (+63)  total cases-  Note that this includes confirmed and presumptive.

 

Of our cases (confirmed and presumptive): 

Hospitalized:16 (+2)

Deaths: 23 (+1)

Infectious: 212 (+2)

Persons Under Monitoring: 669

 

 

At least 72,841 negative tests

 

Individuals who had contact with these community members will be contacted by Lane County Public Health so they can work with their health care providers on next steps. Communicable disease investigations are underway. If a public contact exposure point is identified, that information will be shared with the public.

 

Deaths:

 

A 91-year-old woman from the Eugene/Springfield area passed away on October 10th. She had not been hospitalized prior to her death. From the entire team at Lane County Public Health, our heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and family of this community member.

* Presumptive cases are people without a positive PCR test who have COVID-19-like symptoms and had close contact with a confirmed case. Though not confirmed by a positive diagnostic test, presumptive cases have a high likelihood of having COVID-19 because of the specific nature of the symptoms and known exposure
