News Release
Lane County Public Health September 14th COVID-19 Case Update - 09/14/20

Lane County Public Health notified of 38 additional positive COVID-19  cases and two deaths. This makes a total of eight hundred and sixty seven (867) cases.


867 total cases-  Note that this includes confirmed and presumptive.


Of our cases (confirmed and presumptive): 

Hospitalized: 1 (no change)

Deaths: 14 (+2)

Infectious: 65 (+14)



At least 58,416  negative tests (total individuals tested by result)


59,283 total tests administered 


A 96 year old woman rom the Eugene-Springfield area died Saturday evening, September 12th, from COVID-19-related causes. She had not been hospitalized prior to her death. No additional information about the man will be made available at this time.


An 87 year old man from the Eugene-Springfield area died Sunday morning, September 13th, from COVID-19-related causes. He had not been hospitalized prior to his death. No additional information about the man will be made available at this time.


Individuals who had contact with these community members will be contacted by Lane County Public Health so they can work with their health care providers on next steps. Communicable disease investigations are underway. If a public contact exposure point is identified, that information will be shared with the public.

* Presumptive cases are people without a positive PCR test who have COVID-19-like symptoms and had close contact with a confirmed case. Though not confirmed by a positive diagnostic test, presumptive cases have a high likelihood of having COVID-19 because of the specific nature of the symptoms and known exposure.
