Individuals who had contact with these community members will be contacted by Lane County Public Health so they can work with their health care providers on next steps. Communicable disease investigations are underway. If a public contact exposure point is identified, that information will be shared with the public.
*We are now inquiring about attendance at large gatherings as part of our disease investigations and will make that information publicly available. To date, none of our confirmed cases have attended large gatherings such as protests, or rallies. We believe that the majority of our new points of transmission are from house parties predominantly associated with end of school year celebrations.

*Lane County Public Health will conduct a Frontline Worker testing event this Wednesday (7/15) from 1-5 PM at the Lane Events Center Parking Lot (796 W. 13th Ave).
PLEASE NOTE: This event is a surveillance effort designed to determine the spread of COVID-19 in our frontline worker population. Lane County Public Health considers frontline workers to be individuals with public-facing jobs who have worked throughout the outbreak. Examples include: grocery store workers, gas station attendants, customer service representatives, bus drivers, food and coffee servers, retail workers, or anyone who has a public-facing job but does not have access to ongoing testing.
This event is NOT designed to serve individuals who are already being regularly tested as part of their employment (examples include: many first responders, many healthcare workers, ).

* Presumptive cases are people without a positive PCR test who have COVID-19-like symptoms and had close contact with a confirmed case. Though not confirmed by a positive diagnostic test, presumptive cases have a high likelihood of having COVID-19 because of the specific nature of the symptoms and known exposure.
