TESTING UPDATE

Lane County has 243 cases*, 63 cases that are currently infectious, and three (3) suspected COVID-19 deaths as of 0800 on July 7. One person is currently hospitalized. At least 26,435 tests have been conducted for Lane County residents.**

*Per Oregon Health Authority guidelines, we are now combining confirmed and presumptive cases in our reporting.  Presumptive cases are people who had 15 minutes or more exposure within 6 feet to a known case and are displaying symptoms consistent with COVID-19, but who do not yet have lab confirmation. The definition of infectious is cases that are less than 9 days from symptom onset.

**Please note: this number is likely below the actual number of tests conducted. Private labs are processing tests from Lane County residents and there is variability in reporting of negative results. Lane County Public Health is being notified of any positive test results.
