News Release
An early morning fire claimed the life of a Klamath Falls resident. - 09/27/24

Klamath County Fire District 1 (KCFD1) responded to a residential structure fire at approximately 330am this morning. A good samaritan passing by the residence called 911 when they saw smoke and flames coming from the house. He attempted to make entry into the burning house to help get people out, but was overtaken by heat and smoke and was not able to get inside. The first arriving fire engine found flames and heavy smoke coming out of the windows at a residence in the 2200 blk of Applegate ave. Crews quickly made entry into the house and extinguished the fire where they found a victim in a room that had succumbed to injuries from the heat and smoke. The victims name will not be released at this time. Family have been notified. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by KCFD1, Klamath Falls Police Department and the Oregon State Fire Marshals Office.
