Klamath County Fire District 1(KCFD1) is proud to announce that this week nine members of KCFD1 were awarded Quilts of Valor in recognition of their military service. The Quilts of Valor Foundation was started in Delaware by Catherine Roberts with the message, quilts equal healing, and over 315,000 quilts have been awarded across the nation since its modest beginning in 2003. The quilts awarded on Tuesday were stitched locally by Quilts 4 Warriors, Donna Drucker and Tisha Carpenter.

Quilts were awarded to:

Dir. of Admin. Services, Phil Hull, Army

Firefighter Wes Alaniz, Air Force Reserve

Deputy Chief Matt Hitchcock, Air Force

Fire Chief Greg Davis, Air Force

Firefighter Justin Llanes, Army
