Kelso School District, along with the Leadership and Associated Student Body (ASB) classes from Kelso High School, Coweeman Middle School, and Huntington Middle School are launching a community-wide virtual spirit week to raise spirits and bring our community closer together during this unusual time of social distancing.
The KELSO STRONG Community-Wide Virtual Spirit Week will be carried out over social media on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook during the week of May 4th. The community is invited to show their Kelso spirit by posting uplifting photos any or all days of the week using the themed guideline below and these hashtags: #WeAre #InThisTogether #KelsoStrong.
“The idea behind the KELSO STRONG Virtual Spirit Week is to continue promoting positive community and school spirit,” said Mary Beth Tack, superintendent. “While continuing the social distancing order, capturing moments in our days around the K-E-L-S-O theme and sharing them with each other through social media will bring us together in small but meaningful ways.”
Themes for each day are:
- Monday, May 4 – K
- Tuesday, May 5 – E
- Wednesday, May 6 – L
- Thursday, May 7 – S
- Friday, May 8 – O
- Weekend – KELSO
Some ideas for things to photograph and post are listed online at bit.ly/kelsostrong, but don’t stop there, let your creative juices flow.
Also online at bit.ly/kelsostrong, is a downloadable file of the KELSO STRONG logo (available for use on photos or to put up in business, home, or car windows).
Community partner Copies Today is giving Kelso School District students a window cling of the KELSO STRONG logo. Clings will be distributed to seniors when they come in to film for the virtual graduation, mailed to middle and high school students who get paper learning packets, and given to all grades at personal belonging pickup days. Any student missed can go to Copies Today to pick up a window cling.
