While Gelbrich noted looking forward to focusing on improving his health, traveling, and serving in volunteer roles; he acknowledges there is much to do between now and the end of June and remains as committed as ever to the mission of preparing every student for living, learning and achieving success as a citizen of our changing world. His decisions always focus on providing the best possible educational opportunities for every student," said Board President Bob Lucas. "The Board sincerely appreciates his dedication to our district; his leadership and passion will truly be missed." In his resignation letter, Gelbrich expressed gratitude for the district staff and the citizens of Kelso, and said he has the "fondest regard and highest hopes for our schools and our community." The Board will begin the process for an executive search later this month.
