Kelso Police - Shooting -08/13/24

On Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 1850 hours, Kelso Police responded to the area of West Cowlitz Way and Catlin Street for a shooting. Officers from Kelso Police, Longview Police and Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office all responded to the area and found a motorist suffering from a gunshot wound.  Witnesses reported seeing a white passenger car, believed to be involved in the incident, fleeing the scene. That vehicle was located unoccupied less than 45 minutes later in Oregon. 

The victim of the gunshot wound was flown to a nearby trauma center for care.  No further details of this event will be released at this time. This appears to be an isolated incident and it is not related to the recent homicide that occurred in Kelso on August 2, 2024. Additional details will be released in the following days.
