Drive-thru flu shots now available as flu season begins amid COVID pandemic

What:

  • Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the public must prepare now to guard against the upcoming flu season.

  • It is possible to get both the flu and Covid-19 at the same time, so it’s important to protect against both and reduce the strain on our health care resources.

  • Kaiser Permanente Northwest is hosting drive-through flu clinics for our members to make it safe and convenient to get a flu shot this fall.

  • Drive-through and walk-up flu shot clinics begin October 3 and run through October 31.

Why:

  • Flu is a deadly disease that drives hospitalizations, but with simple measures like getting your flu shot we can prevent hospital bed shortages and protect people from a potentially fatal disease.

  •  Flu vaccinations have been shown to reduce risk of hospitalization by 40% in adults.

  • Getting a flu shot provides the best protection for yourself and your loved ones.
  • We are trying to create “community immunity.” If enough people are vaccinated it will help.
