Marijuana Search Warrant 10/18/22 (Photo) - 10/19/22

INCIDENT DATE: October 18, 2022 

REPORTING DEPUTY: Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET)

CHARGES: 1- Unlawful Manufacturing of Marijuana  

                   2- Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 

                   3- Unlawful Appropriation of Water                                     

DETAILS:

On October 17, 2022, the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET) executed a search warrant in the 1600 block of Cedar Flat Road in Josephine County regarding an illegal marijuana grow site.  The search warrant was executed with the assistance of Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) and Josephine County Code Enforcement.

During the execution of the warrant, a neighboring property was observed to have a felony amount of marijuana growing in their back yard. Detectives authored a search warrant based on their observations, training and experience. 

On October 18, 2022, JMET, RADE and Code Enforcement executed that warrant also in the 1600 block of Cedar Flat Road.  At the time the search warrant was executed the plants had been harvested; however, they were found drying in the main residence. The harvested plants and additional processed marijuana was seized and destroyed.  

The property also had multiple electrical, water and solid waste code violations. These violations could result in the civil forfeiture of the property. 

The suspect was not at home; however, is facing charges for Unlawful Manufacturing of Marijuana, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Unlawful Appropriation of Water.

At the time of this press release the investigation is ongoing and no further details are being released.
