Unlawful Use Of A Firearm/ Reckless Endangering - 10/11/22

INCIDENT DATE: October 8, 2022

REPORTING DEPUTY: Detective Sergeant Henrich                                    

DETAILS:

On October 8, 2022, Deputies with the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Shots Fired call in the 400 block of Ridge Vista Drive, Cave Junction. Upon arrival, Deputies learned that a 15 year-old female was practicing driving on her family’s private easement when a suspect fired multiple rounds at her vehicle. 

The suspect was later identified as 44 year-old Naham Harris. During a consent search of Harris’ property, $103,000 and multiple firearms were located hidden in the wooded area on Harris’ property. The firearm used during the incident was not located. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office applied for a search warrant in an attempt to locate the firearm used. 

On October 10, 2022, Detectives executed that warrant and found an additional firearm hidden and loaded for use. In addition to the firearm, a felony amount of processed marijuana was located on the property. 

Naham Harris was taken into custody on October 8, 2022, for Unlawful Use of a Firearm, Menacing, and Reckless Endangering of Another. On October 10, 2022, an additional charge of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana was added to the charges pending.
