Search Warrant For Illegal Marijuana - 01/18/22

INCIDENT DATE AND TIME: January 18, 2022 at 7:00 AM 

REPORTING DEPUTY: Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET)                                 

ARRESTED: Jian Li Mei, 64 year-old male           

CHARGES: 1- Unlawful Manufacture of Marijuana 

                    2- Unlawful Possession of Marijuana

ARRESTED: Wei Kang Zhu, 55 year-old male

CHARGES: 1- Unlawful Manufacture of Marijuana 

                    2- Unlawful Possession of Marijuana

DETAILS:

On January 18, 2022, the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET) in partnership with Oregon State Police Southwest Region Drug Enforcement Team, Rogue Area Drug Enforcement Team, consisting of Grants Pass Police Department and Josephine County Parole and Probation, conducted a search warrant in the 400 block of Crystal Springs Road.

During the execution of the warrant an illegal indoor marijuana cultivation operation was located.  Approximately 400 marijuana plants were seized and destroyed. 

The above listed individuals were arrested and lodged in the Josephine County Jail.

At the time of this press release the investigation is ongoing and no further details are being released.
