Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash - 11/18/21

INCIDENT NUMBER:    21002544

INCIDENT DATE AND TIME: 11/17/2021 at 8:02 pm

REPORTING DEPUTY:  Lieutenant Jim Geiger

DETAILS:

On November 17, 2021 at 8:02 pm, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a single motor vehicle crash in the 1300 block of Rockydale Road. Personnel from American Medical Response, Illinois Valley Fire District and Jerry’s Towing responded as well.

Upon arrival, Deputies located a heavily damaged vehicle crashed into a tree.  The vehicle had one occupant who was the driver.  The driver was determined to be deceased upon arrival.

Evidence at the scene indicated the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway, striking a tree. 

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 54-year-old Troy Allen Berry.  Next of Kin has been notified.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
