Search Warrant Executed On Illegal Marijuana Cultivation Operation - 08/17/21

On Tuesday August 17th 2021, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation of an illegal marijuana cultivation operation. This investigation is taking place in the Illinois Valley portion of Josephine County. The below listed agencies in partnership, are assisting in the investigation:

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office

Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office

Klamath Falls Police Department

Eugene Police Department

Federal Bureau of Investigations

Drug Enforcement Administration

Bureau of Land Management

Oregon Department of Justice

Southern Oregon Hi-Tec Task Force

Josephine County District Attorney’s Office

Josephine County Code Enforcement

In addition to the unlawful production of marijuana investigation, areas of investigation are also involuntary servitude, human trafficking, forced labor and several issues pertaining to working conditions and human rights.  An investigative operation of this magnitude takes time and is ongoing as of the time of this release.  As a result, no further details can be provided until the operation is completed.
