Concealed Handgun License Renewals - 04/07/20
INCIDENT DATE: April 7, 2020
REPORTING DEPUTY: Sheriff Dave Daniel
DETAILS:
Initially when the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office closed the Civil Division’s doors due to Covid-19, we were unable to issue new or renewal concealed handgun licenses. This week we have overcome a software issue which did not allow for renewals by mail. While we still cannot process new concealed handgun licenses due to social distancing guidelines, we are now able to process most renewals.
Josephine County residents wanting to renew their concealed handgun license will need to submit the following by mail (please do not lick the envelope):
- A completed and signed application.
- A $50 renewal fee (personal check or money order made out to Josephine County Sheriff’s Office).
- A self-addressed, stamped envelope (this is to mail your permit to you when it is ready).
If you have changed your address within Josephine County or need to replace a lost card you will need to submit the following by mail (please do not lick the envelope):
- A completed and signed Change of Address Form
- A $15 address change or replacement fee (check or money order made out to Josephine County Sheriff’s Office).
- A self-addressed, stamped envelope.
The required forms can be found on our website at www.co.josephine.or.us/CHL
Mail applications and payment to:

**If you have changed your address you will need to update your information with the DMV before submitting your renewal or address change application.
Please shred your expiring CHL permit once you have received the new one. If you have any questions you may contact our office at 541-474-5109 Ext. 3144 or 3145.
CHL renewals by mail will remain in effect until the Governor lifts the emergency declaration.
