On November 4, 2024, at 13:57:39, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Redwood Highway and Airport Drive in Cave Junction. The Illinois Valley Fire District, AMR-Josephine County, Oregon Department of Transportation, and Oregon State Police responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered a single vehicle off the roadway and completely engulfed in flames. A bystander had successfully rescued the occupant from the vehicle before the fire spread. One patient was transported to the hospital, with assistance from a firefighter during treatment.
The Oregon State Police is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
