Hoodland Fire Responding To Incident At Mt. Hood Ski Bowl - 04/30/26

April 30, 2026

Hoodland Fire Responding to Incident at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl

Government Camp, OR – Hoodland Fire District is currently on scene of an incident at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl East involving a chairlift.

At approximately 9:35 a.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the area after reports of a chairlift malfunction resulting in individuals falling in steep and difficult terrain.

 

Firefighters and paramedics located multiple patients and initiated rescue and medical operations. Due to the remote location, crews are utilizing specialized equipment, including ATVs and air medical resources, to access and treat patients.

 

Agencies assisting include Clackamas Fire, American Medical Response (AMR), Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Forest Service, Life Flight air medical services, and Mt. Hood Ski Bowl personnel.

The incident remains active, and crews continue to operate on scene. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
