Harrison High School Take Third Place at the World Affairs Challenge

COLORADO SPRINGS – Harrison High School IB team took third place at the World Affairs Challenge in Denver last weekend. Harrison High School Spanish Teacher, Kathia Molina, was also recognized with the WAC Leadership Award.

Seven, Harrison High School juniors in Ms. Kathia Molina’s Spanish II class have teamed up with seven other students from Liceo de Puriscal in San Jose, Costa Rica. Together, they have come up with the idea to implement bilingual mobile libraries in rural communities with limited access to education. The Harrison High School students have named their project "The Storytelling Project".

This would be the first, bilingual mobile library housed by Liceo de Puriscal. Students hope to have this library completed this summer.

The World Affairs Challenge is a nonprofit that is dedicated to developing young global leaders. Its signature program is an annual competition where middle school and high school teams present their ideas for solving today’s most challenging global issues while taking action locally.
