The name of the pedestrian who died following last night’s crash on Northeast Century Boulevard is Alter Wiener, 92. Mr. Wiener was a survivor of the Holocaust who published the book From a Name to a Number: A Holocaust Survivor’s Autobiography. He was well-known in the Hillsboro community for sharing his life experiences during library lectures.
The 50-year-old driver of the Honda Accord remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with investigators. He will not face any charges or citations.
