At 6:53 this morning, the Hillsboro Police and Fire Department were dispatched to a auto/pedestrian accident at the intersection of Century Blvd and Johnson Street.

The pedestrian/deceased is identified as; Elana Rocha-DeLeos

At this stage of the investigation it appears that Rocha-DeLeos was walking to work when this incident happened. Rocha-DeLeos was walking south on Century Blvd (east side of the street). As she was crossing Johnson Street, Rocha-DeLeos was struck by a vehicle that was tuning left from Century Blvd onto Johnson Street.

Prior to the First Responders arrival, a good Samaritan stopped and found Ms. Rocha-DeLeos not breathing. They began CPR. When the Hillsboro Fire Department arrived, they took over the rescue effort. Sadly Ms.Rocha-DeLeos died at the scene.

The Driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement. No enforcement action has taken place at this time. This incident is still under investigation.
