Police Seeking Information in Winter Weather Shooting (Photo) - 01/15/24

CASE NUMBER: 24-01938

Gresham, Ore.— Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance in the investigation of a shooting that occurred in the 600 block of NE 178 Ave. Officers responded to a call that a person had been shot at approximately 6:15 p.m., on Saturday. When officers arrived, they located the gunshot victim and learned he had been shot during a carjack robbery. The victim was sitting in the car, staying warm and charging his phone during a power outage when the suspect approached. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers quickly located the stolen vehicle in a nearby parking lot. The vehicle had been stuck in a snow drift and abandoned by the suspect prior to being located. Officers checked the area but did not locate the suspect. Officers collected evidence and detectives are asking neighboring residents and business owners to check their video cameras around the time of the incident.

If you have any information about the case, you are asked to call the Gresham Police Tip-Line at 503-618-2719.
